Federal EV Charger Tax Credit

EV Charger Tax Credit Residential
The federal tax credit, often referred to as the 30C tax credit, covers 30% of an EV charging station, necessary equipment and installation costs. For residential installations, the IRS caps the tax credit at $1,000. The charger must be located in approved “census tract” as defined by the IRS. You claim the credit on your Federal tax return by completing a form 8911.

EV Charger Tax Credit Business
(Commercial Chargers 2/3)
The federal tax credit, often referred to as the 30C tax credit, covers up to 30% of EV charger equipment and installation costs. For non-residential installations, the tax credit is up to $100,000. Chargers must also be located in approved “census tracts” in order to qualify. Starting in 2023, customers must follow prevailing wage and apprenticeship guidelines for installation or the credit is capped at 6% of cost. You claim the credit on your Federal tax return by completing a form 8911.

TECO Drive Smart (utility program)
$5,000 per Port
Capped at 100%

Commercial Chargers (Level 2)
This program currently has a waitlist for new applications.
TECO will contribute up to $5,000 towards equipment and installation costs of each port, and will own and maintain the chargers for the 4 year pilot period. Program may be limited to approximately 200 chargers and sites will be chosen based market segments, geography, and overall costs. Charging station must be networked.
